Stephen Meyer, Excalibur Vice President, Appointed to Hamilton County Regional Health Council

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (May 10, 2013) – East Brainerd resident Stephen Meyer, Vice President of Engineering and Development at Excalibur Integrated Systems, Inc., has been appointed to a four-year term on the Hamilton County Regional Health Council by the Hamilton County Commission, Excalibur President and CEO Rodger Jenkins announced today.

“Steve has been deeply involved in supporting the improvement of Hamilton County public health for many years. By helping the county integrate its current protocols with the latest technology, I believe Steve will make a significant contribution to the Regional Health Council,” Jenkins said.

Meyer has worked in a variety of different fields in the public and private sectors, including traffic control and environmental services, designing and implementing systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness. For over 15 years, he has served as the chairman of the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board. Meyer is a Chattanooga native and holds a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Degree from UTC.

“I’m honored by the county’s decision to have me serve on the council, and I’m delighted by the opportunity to help improve the region’s public health systems and initiatives,” Meyer said.

The Hamilton County Regional Health Council serves as the lead community-based organization designated by the Tennessee Department of Health. The council and its subcommittees is responsible for assessing community health, planning regional health and providing input on funding decisions for health and health related initiatives.
